I learned my lesson from watching the HHGTTG remake: Don't watch remakes of cultural institutions that you love.
They can make it, but they can't make me watch it, damnit (janet!)
Everything that made the original special - the lousy acting, Magenta and Rif Raff, the horrible directing, the campy music, Tim Curry in drag, the hilarious '50s overtones, Tim Curry in drag... these things, they just can't be duplicated.
